So, I have this best friend, Mark. Mark and I have been close for like.. 2 years now. We had an on and off relationship, starting not this last summer, but the summer before that. He and I were a ‘thing’ 2 summers ago, and then he left for college, and I dated our mutual best friend Allan for 8 months.. we broke up in June. It was a kind of messy break up. Mark came back, but before he came back, he went to Rhode Island with his family.
Mark and I had this thing when we were ‘dating’ where we’d get each other little gifts all the time. Really small things like little bags of gummy bears or little notes to each other. Mark came back from Rhode Island and had gotten me a 20 dollar stuffed Panda toy (I collect Pandas). And a ring. Not just a little dinky ring. It’s a ring made out of pure mother of pearl, and it’s kind of shaped like an engagement ring. When he gave it to me, he slipped it onto my finger for me and asked me how I liked it. I, of course, loved it, but (being a girl) immediately started to ponder his motives. I’ve been wearing it on my ring finger (just because that’s the only finger it fits..) since he gave it to me, in August. He left at the beginning of November for an LDS mission (he’ll be gone for 2 years), and people keep asking me why I still wear his ring all the time. It makes me feel connected to him.. and I miss him a lot.
Anyway, why do you think he got me the ring? He really isn’t the kind of guy to just get a girl jewelry. He had a girlfriend before me and he never got her jewelry once. Ever. He gave her a pair of gloves once.. that was it.
He claims that his brother helped him pick it out.. but that really doesn’t change the fact that he bought it and he put it on my finger..
Does this even mean anything? :/ Am I just being an over analyzing girl? :/

I am 21 but look more mature. A guy who was probably 28 came up to me while I was working to promote a product at a grocery store. He asked about the product and then we chatted. I got overall great vibes, he asked a lot about me. He asked what I was doing in school, where I may want to work, what I like to do for fun, etc. He also answered questions I had like what he does, if he likes the food I was handing out, etc.

He did ask what ethnicity I was and said I had pretty eyes and guys must swarm me at these functions. The only thing that threw me off was he asked me my last name. We talked for about 20 mins. He then said he had to go and that if I was in the area again we could grab coffee. He gave me his number though and didn’t ask for mine. SO I have to make the move with texting…do u think he did okay and this is a normal way to ask a girl out?

If it’s you bf’s bday, should he still pay for everything? And in that case, would you try to plan on going to an expensive resturaunt?

He seemed to like me, we started hanging out quite a lot lately. And tonight he invites me out for his birthday. And like cool…it all started like fun, we started talking and then we sat down to listen to a band. Then he told me about his ex gf and I asked him if he still likes her he said yes. So I decided to go out and have a smoke since my chances are 0 as it seems . And then he calls me on my phone asking where am I?

I then he walks me out to my car and hugs me and says thanks for a great time.

I really want to be in a relationship now, I’m 18 years old, in university, and I am definitely at that stage where I feel I have the right balance and maturity to be an a relationship/ date. I just don’t know where to meet guys and strike up a conversation because I’m shy in this area and I would never want to make the first move. Is there any places around a university campus or just in general I can go?

My boyfriend and,I are an interracial couple and we have been off and on for a year we love each other so much we even talked about marriage,but the problem with us is that he don’t trust me. I trust him completely,I never questions him or anything but he questions me he looks through my phone he accuse me about stuff and when he starts thinking alot he say stuff that’s really hurtful like he trust,to call me a hoe and he thins I shouldn’t get mad. and I feel like I should get out and I have done it before and he said he would stop and he did for like two Weeks then started again but I know I should leave but I’m so in love with the good side of him I can’t find it in me to really leave but I know its gonna get worse. just curious. I hookedup with someone and it was just a one night stand. nothing more (the other person agrees) but that said, when I see the person, of course i am polite and say hi, and i am cordial, but they invite me to things and have come and sat with me in the student lounge before

am i the weird one for not wanting to “hang out” and spend a lot of time with my one-night-stand?
im not exactly avoiding him, but i am not like inviting him to things either or hanging out with him if i see him somewhere……am i weird?

If your girlfriend (who you loved) said that she loves you but she doesn’t think she’s suited for you, she says she thinks she has different expectations from the relationship, and that you’re unintentionally hurting her. E.g. you keep taking photos with female friends and it hurts her because she purposely doesn’t take photos with guy friends because she thinks it’s cruel… what is your reaction to this?
it hurts her because guys in her past have intentionally done that kind of thing to hurt her…. and it reminds her of what they did to her…
